How Sustained Collective Came Alive

Sustained Collective began with a personal experience and a powerful realization. As the founder, Lina Tsegaye, I spent years volunteering at festivals and conferences. Each event brought a new team shirt branded with logos and details, such as "Sustained Collective Summer Event 2023." These shirts were often discarded after the event.

In October 2023, I volunteered at the Social Enterprise World Forum, where I heard a sustainable fashion designer speak passionately about the waste caused by single-use team shirts. They emphasized the urgent need for innovation—apparel that serves more than one purpose. That moment sparked the idea behind Sustained Collective.

We needed a solution that combines reusability, sustainability, and practicality. The result was an innovative, bio-based washable ink technology, designed to be printed on sustainable fabrics like organic cotton. This technology allows team shirts to be reprinted for different events, drastically reducing waste.

Sustained Collective also reflects a broader mission. It’s a partnership of experts, professionals, and suppliers, all working together to create a circular solution for event apparel. This collective effort ensures that every shirt is designed, produced, stored, and delivered under ethical, environmentally friendly conditions.
